Draw comments on wall

Since a lot of the show had to do with sketching, instead of putting a small booklet for people to sign we decided to try out the idea of pasting up xeroxes (xeroxes of xeroxes, actually) on a full wall with a few markers and a note to draw comments on wall.

When I proposed the idea people said that (of course) if we let people loose with a wall we'd get the obvious obscene images and notes etc. This was fine with me, and actually the only *rule* that needs to be followed is that everyone use the same (green) marker. So far so good.

As expected, the comments run the full extremes from anonymous secret crushes, thoughtful analysis, Harry Potter scars, genuine compliments, silly nonesense, graf tags, book suggestions (Kurt Vonnegut), e-mail addresses, penises and a Crucified Woody Wood Pecker.

Great night, thanks to everyone who took the time to come and see it. Wouldn't have been possible without the help of Gyula Gefin, Mark Molnar, Marjorie Griffin, Allegra, Annie Brunet, Rebecca W, Chelsea Gray, Janet Chan, Joe diLeo, Second year Dawson Students who helped out and Luc Parent.

Booklet, Zines, Gallery space, Paint

Exhibition booklet got here a few days early - generally pleased with the results. Will have an example of it at the show, taking names of anyone who wants one.

Zines printed up - and lovingly folded by hand (thank you Annie, Janet & Rebecca!) Hope those dudes at the print shop take good care of them when adding those color touches - will see tomorrow morning.

Nice, cosy space - not too big and just the right size for what we want to show.

Exhibition Booklet

Also putting together an accompanying 98 page booklet. It won't have any of the larger pieces showcased in the exhibition, but will have most the 90 + sketchbook drawings.

This will have to be a minuscule print run, so I am trying out an online bounding company. This means that I can go as low as printing 1 book at a time. Unfortunately this means that each copy is way more expensive than it should be.

Ideally I'd be able to put them at a reasonable price - but I'll be doing them at cost. Making no money and just asking for what it costs to print and ship it here. I don't expect many people to be able to dish out the aprox. 35$ + this will cost, but I'll be taking names, contact info and cash for anyone who wants one (mom, dad?) ... with that cash I order the copies and get them to you.

Exhibition Zine Interview

Wanted to have something explaining what the exhibition is about, so instead of just offering mini posters at the show I'm working on putting together a tabloid sized zine (black and white printing on bond paper with silkscreen color touches) that has a small interview in it.

I see it as offering the mini poster (the cover) *but* with the extra added bonus of the interview. Ideally would be giving these away for free - but might have to sell them (or ask for a donation of 8$-10$) - this way the exhibition can help pay for itself (and the people generous enough to be helping out with it).

Don't want to show too much, but the above are a few images of some of its process ...
